SUCCESS

So, it has been quite a while since I was able to get on here and put a redneck discussion up. Been extremely busy with work and HUNTING! My 2012 Maine Moose Hunt was a roaring success. Family, friends, the great outdoors and got a great bull mid week. We also as a group managed to harvest about 36 pahhhhhtridge. So needless to say it was amazing. Camp on Moosehead, lot's of redneck beverages going around every night and immense celebration all while eating bacon, and other assorted home made foods. To all who read this if you don't hunt please try it. Talk to a friend who is into shooting/hunting and go out for an afternoon drive hunting road chickens, go out in the spring to hear a turkey gobble, go sit in a deer stand in the corner of a field for an evening. Just try it and you will understand the bond that rednecks have with nature and why we do what we do. Hunting really is a part of our spirit. We are not crazy people who just want to kill everything in sight in fact we want to ensure sustainable healthy populations for years to come. Vegans really enjoy attacking hunters for killing wildlife, yet hunters due to taxes on firearms, ammunition, licenses, conservation group fees actually donate millions of dollars to wildlife research, conservation, habitat restoration and put in way more volunteer hours to actually help wildlife than PETA, or any other anti-hunting group. I'm a member of the NRA, NWTF, RMEF, DU and BMF. For those who don't know that's the National Rifle Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited and Bull Moose Foundation. All these groups do substantial efforts to support wildlife and ensure they have a future for eternity. How's that for actually caring about animals and doing something that matters for them? It is fall, the time of harvest. Get out hunting, and join a wildlife conservation group to support our wildlife and hunting traditions. Stay safe, shoot straight and shoot often. God Bless.

HUNTING SEASON IS HERE

The nights are getting cooler and that brisk chill first thing in the morning is setting in. Fall no questions is the redneck's most favorite time of year. Hunting kicks in and here in Maine for all of you who didn't know you can actually start hunting at the first of September for Canadian geese. Goose hunting is really exciting and is a great way to get your marksmanship on course for when you are going to start hunting deer. Bear season is also in and expanded archery zone archery hunting starts September 8th. Why am I saying all this? Because I love the sport of hunting and I want more and more people to get interested in it and start taking advantage of and appreciating our amazing natural resources the ways that I do. All we see is expansion of cities, homes, highways completely raping our land and it's because people just don't understand. I challenge all of you who read this to go hunting this fall if you never have and if you have take someone with you who hasn't before. Get them an apprentice license for like 12 bucks and show them the amazing lifestyle we live. In order to preserve our lifestyle we need to get more people involved. This resources are for everyone and we need to start introducing people to just how amazing the hunting and outdoor lifestyle really is.

Olympics

Well, well, well look at that. Did we or did we not kick ass in the Olympics this year? And you know what? I'M SO HAPPY ABOUT IT. I hear so much in my day to day that we are slipping, losing ground, we are not the best country in the world, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. I really wish any person who actually felt that way would just leave this country I love so much and go to some place that they think is so amazing and wonderful. They would be back in a day. Sure it's cool to visit Mexico, or some tropical place. But do you really want to live with the Cartel all around? I didn't think so. Do our schools need work? Some of them do, but that's a whole other can of worms for another day. The one thing that is still alive today in this country is the American Dream. All the people who are doing well I know of including myself did so because we worked our asses off and put ourselves in positions to be successful. We didn't sit on the sidelines and wait for someone to throw us a bone and then be upset and complain and government, unfairness, the rich taking all the money and all they other pathetic cries you hear from people today who just simply don't want to help themselves. We are the greatest country in the world but our people have too much "entitlement pride". You hear in high schools all over the country "I won't flip burgers, I won't do this or what". Let me tell you something, the kids who bust their ass doing those summers jobs while others are laying in the sun wanting something better but not doing anything about it are going to be the ones calling the shots some day. Make something of the opportunities available to you in this country. Don't be a victim of your environment should it be a bad place to grow up. Break the molds, work hard in classes and prove anyone who said you couldn't do what you dream of wrong. Do you think our Olympic champions got to the top of the world in their event by waiting for someone to hand them an opportunity? I don't think so. Our current President said nothing has been made in this country by one person, that essentially someone helped you along the way. That may be true, but that doesn't mean we should be letting people do our work for us. So get out of bed and dominate what ever task, work, practice, event, tour, drive or thing that you have going on today. The fact that you are alive, breathing, and on the internet and reading my redneck BS vent sessions shows just how fortunate you are. God bless us all, and God bless the United States of America.

Why, why why....

Today we all are hearing on the news all day about the terrible shooting in Colorado and the Batman movie. Even those of us who are all about owning firearms,etc. think is is absolutely unacceptable. Such a waste of innocent life because some lunatic lost it. My thoughts and prayers go out to all individuals effected by the incident and I look forward to the day this person is brought to justice. I don't even need to debate the death penalty in this situation because I think it's not even something I need to think about. Honestly the people who need to be worried about the most are the families who are hurt by the loss of their loved ones. They are the ones who we should be worried about, and not the individual who did this unthinkable act of senseless brutal violence.
